Jim Knowles was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, raised in the Diablo Valley east of San Francisco Bay, and lived more than 30 years in Silicon Valley. He has played keyboards in jazz, rock, and blues bands while also pursuing a long career as a software engineer. Jim and his wife Liza currently live in Sydney, Australia, where he continues his daily practice of tai chi, music, poetry, and art. The Beginning of Dreams is his first book of poems.
